Recipe ~ Tuscan Sunset
For The Love Of : Blood Red Oranges
I knew I was a fan of blood red orange juice the day I had my first Ace-flavored gelato on the sunny shores of Cernobbio, Italy. Ace has a distinctive red-orange color, and the taste is out of this world; a citrusy trio of orange, carrot and lemon juice.
But let's be clear ~ the blood red orange was the hero, and remains one of my favorite tastes to tickle the tongue. So when I discovered Sanpellegrino Aranciata Rossa on my local market's shelves, my heart skipped a beat as I quickly reached for my first six pack.
With drink in hand... while being bathed in the light of the day's fading sun in Dallas... I was reminded of the setting Tuscan sunsets I enjoyed in S. Albino, Italy. Reds, oranges and blues all dancing in magical shades of light... they inspired this cocktail and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating my first one!
What are the best sidekicks to enjoy the setting sun?
Your amici... and a glass or two of this memorable cocktail.
